William Andersen went on a season-long hitting spree against USHA2 pitchers and captured the Outstanding Hitter Award for 2028.
The Redwood City HS right fielder battered the opposition for 63 hits, 19 doubles, no triples, 12 home runs, 34 runs batted in and scored 57 runs. He hit .525 and posted a .650 on-base percentage.
For being named the USHA2's top hitter, Andersen will be honored at the SION Baseball Writers awards banquet this weekend. |

2028's top hitter in the USHA1 is Dalton Jones. He feasted on everything opposing pitchers offered, hitting .497 with 12 home runs to claim the prestigious Outstanding Hitter Award.
During the year he tallied 81 hits, 59 RBIs, and 53 runs scored.
This weekend the SBWA will host its annual awards dinner and all of the major winners will be there to receive their trophies for their outstanding achievements this past season. |
 | Saturday, June 10th, 2028: USHA2 Outstanding Pitcher Award Goes to Gillespie
Dana Gillespie has really been "The Man" for the Ashland HS Ramjets this season.
For his brilliant performance he was honored with the 2028 USHA2 Outstanding Pitcher Award.
Gillespie put up a fine 5-1 record and dominated league batters with an impressive 4.96 ERA. He worked 52.2 innings in 9 starts, allowed 63 hits, rang up 88 strikeouts and walked 17.
The SION Baseball Writers Association will present his trophy to him at the annual awards dinner this weekend. |
